Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of general mechanical equipment maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of pumping processes and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic control equipment with emphasis on calibration and analysis.
  • Skill in the repair of SCADA equipment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of wiring diagrams and blueprints of electrical installations.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements when working with 220V and 480V electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of municipal water and wastewater systems.
  • Knowledge of the operation and preventive maintenance of a variety of equipment.
  • Knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance.
  • Skill in the operation of assigned specialized equipment.
  • Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of computers and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing, overhauling, installing, and testing complex hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and SCADA systems.
  • Performing preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical equipment.
  • Maintaining motor control panels and control systems.
  • Operating machinery such as skid steers and backhoes.
  • Welding, cutting, and process piping maintenance.
  • Cleaning and maintaining facilities to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Responding to emergencies and enhancing the city's infrastructure and operational excellence.
