About The Position

The Maintenance and Repair Worker at Alpha Home Inc. is responsible for overseeing the physical plant and property at assigned locations. This role involves collaborating with the Program Manager and Facility Director to address facility maintenance issues, manage repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The position emphasizes maintaining a safe and healthy work environment while supporting the organization's mission and core values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of maintenance experience including carpentry, plumbing, and equipment repair.
• Knowledge of general maintenance of buildings.
• Ability to understand and follow work orders and to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
• Knowledge of safety precautions with equipment including plumbing and electrical.
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain systems and equipment by completing preventative maintenance schedules for the facility.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following safety standards and procedures.
• Evaluate the function and reliability of facility systems and equipment.
• Facilitate renovation contracts for large facility projects.
• Facilitate outside contractor visits and repairs as needed.
• Secure all equipment on a daily basis.
• Perform general maintenance duties including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and repairs.
• Maintain tools, supplies, and all lawn equipment to ensure safety at all times, and ensure all equipment is secured.
• Comply with all safety procedures for equipment operation, including personal protection equipment.
• Ensure completion of Big 5 Performance management tasks by the required deadlines and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review.
• Perform periodic unscheduled and scheduled inspections of all facilities, grounds, utilities, and equipment as necessary ensuring compliance with all regulations and ordinances.
• Inspect and maintain the entire Alpha Home fleet.
• Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable issues to supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the functions as defined in this job description.
