About The Position

The position involves operating machinery that produces metal roofing components for Fortify Building Solutions customers in a fast-paced environment. The employee will be responsible for producing basic products without supervision and must know when to ask for assistance. Safety and quality are essential in the manufacturing shop, and teamwork is crucial as some products are ordered the same day they are received. The employee must understand the workflow of the metal roofing and related components manufacturing process to complete all tasks in an orderly and timely manner to meet customer satisfaction. The role requires a willingness to be cross-trained on all machines in the shop and to follow specific directions and instructions to produce orders correctly. The employee will set up machinery with little assistance, requiring the ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills. The job also involves operating machines to produce the correct items for orders while standing for extended periods and moving about on foot. Training will be provided to use a forklift to transport heavy metal coils, and participation in daily shop cleaning responsibilities is expected.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree.
• 3+ years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
• High attention to detail to consistently produce quality products.
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and more with assistance.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, and near acuity.
