About The Position

This dual role serves primarily as the Intake Registration Clerk for the department back up as a medical assistant. This position also includes functions of cashier, telephone operator, and health information clerk.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience of three years in a patient registration environment
  • Training and education obtained by completion of a medical assistant program that results in an approved medical assistant certificate
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Basic understanding of common diagnostic tests (e.g. CBC, CMP, U.A)
  • Understanding of service authorizations (e.g. TARS, Medi-Care, Medi-Cal Managed Care, PPO, HMO)

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
