About The Position

BrightStar Care is seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide specialized home care for a one-year-old patient with a rare genetic disease. This role involves working overnight shifts, providing essential medical care including tube feedings and trach care, while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the patient. The position offers flexible scheduling with no on-call or weekend requirements, allowing nurses to work 1-3 nights per week based on their availability.

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing (multistate preferred).
• Current CPR Certification (BLS) from Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Negative TB skin test within the last year.
• Proof of COVID Vaccination.
• Proof of Flu Vaccination (highly recommended).
• Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull as required by patient mobility needs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with trach care (1 year preferred).
• RN license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care including hygiene care, tube feedings, medication administration, and trach care/suctioning.
• Conduct neurological assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Manager, Nurse Supervisor, patient, family, and physician to achieve successful patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and charting in the patient's home.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain client confidentiality.
