About The Position

The Locum CVICU Nurse Practitioner position involves providing critical care services in a prestigious hospital in Houston, TX. This role offers a high degree of autonomy in managing complex cardiac cases, including surgical procedures and cardiogenic shock management. The position is available on a contract basis, with flexible scheduling options for both full-time and part-time work.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Texas License.
• Experience as a cardiothoracic critical care intensivist nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
• Ability to work 3-4 night shifts per week or flexible scheduling options.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in high acuity care environments.
• Familiarity with Level One Trauma protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage approximately 800+ cardiac cases per year including CABGs, Valves (surgical and TAVR), and thoracic vascular surgery (surgical and TEVAR).
• Oversee the management of cardiogenic shock with and without mechanical support.
• Perform high-quality clinical practices and effective patient management under the supervision of the cardiac intensivist.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations in patient management.
