About The Position

The Lecturer-Pool Faculty of Security Studies at Sam Houston State University is a part-time, non-tenure track position responsible for teaching a variety of online courses within the Department of Security Studies. This role is designed to support the degree programs offered by the department and is subject to hiring based on student demand each semester. The position is security-sensitive, requiring a background check, and is open for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 semesters, with up to six positions available.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in homeland security studies, political science, public policy, international relations, public health, criminal justice, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a wide range of courses to support the Department of Security Studies degree programs.
  • Deliver all instruction online.
