Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and performant frontend solutions
- Set best practices for architecture, coding, delivery, and operation of your team's services
- Build relationships with other teams to collaborate and lead the way in developing reusable, scalable designs
- Partner with other engineering teams, product, design, infrastructure, and project management
- Contribute to the vision for the team and the platform as a technical leader
- Identify new and strategic technologies that improve security, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Collaborate with backend and quality engineers to spec, write, test, and deploy code
- Take part in all frontend engineering-related and business-related decisions
- Brainstorm features with product and designers
- Actively participate in retrospectives and help drive continuous improvement in process and culture
- Have 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, shipping production code
- Experience with modern web technologies (React, GraphQL, Javascript, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3)
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Ability to move quickly and meet tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of CSS, design principles, and component library creation
- Capable of prioritizing multiple projects in order to meet goals without management oversight.
