About the position

The New Product Commercialization Lead, is a pivotal role that will support all commercial planning related to the successful commercialization of all complement-mediated pipeline assets in development. This role will be central to defining how to introduce potentially ground-breaking complement therapies to ophthalmology, rare, and neurology disease areas, and will be a core member of the pipeline strategy team, and will report to the VP of Commercial Strategy and Operations. This position is onsite / hybrid and will be primarily located in Waltham, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Research and Development and Business Insights Teams to execute comprehensive market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape; Communicate insights on the evolving treatment landscape, patient needs and competitive dynamics across major markets (US, EU, Japan)
  • Support development and execution of a strategy to maximize market potential of identified complement targets, including life cycle management and short, medium- and long-term commercialization plans
  • Work with internal teams and external experts including key opinion leaders, regulatory partners, and industry partners to identify and assess potential opportunities/risks and translate key insights into actionable strategies and recommendations for future development plans
  • Collaborate closely with R&D leadership, Commercial teams, Manufacturing teams, and cross-functional Pipeline Strategy Team members, in optimizing planning and decision-making while working toward go/no go milestones (including long-range planning and prioritization)
  • Serve as the lead for the commercialization functions on the Pipeline Strategy Team and be the central integrator of information, insights, and perspectives related to commercialization from US and ex-US perspectives
  • Maintain high-level of competitive intelligence within key therapeutic areas of interest including ophthalmology, rare, and neurology
  • Research and articulate future economic and policy trends that may impact commercialization expectations and plan for best- and worst-case scenarios

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required; business degree strongly preferred with strategy/consulting experience; scientific background preferred but not required
  • 10+ years of varied biopharmaceutical or related experience, including matrix team responsibilities, with a combined focus on marketing, strategic planning, market access, and product management
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate program vision and motivate the team; communicates in an open, direct and timely manner; ensures broader organization is aligned with and aware of the program strategy, status and risks
  • Collaborative and team-player who can take on initiatives when needed; uses analytic frameworks to drive team members to important program decisions
  • Strong understanding of the drug development, lifecycle and regulatory processes
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and commercializing products within US and ex-US countries
  • Experience in rare, ophthalmology, nephrology, and/or neurology preferred
  • Proven ability to influence in cross-functional settings and be a catalyst for organizational change a must
