The job overview for the Junior Strategy Operations Manager (Junior Market Manager) role at Blacklane is to support the market management team in both operational and strategic work. This includes managing and improving the supply cost, quality, and availability from external partners, as well as handling partner requests and price adjustments. The role also involves building strong relationships with partners, developing strategies to make Blacklane the preferred partner in the market, and analyzing data to optimize performance. Additionally, the Junior Strategy Operations Manager will be responsible for regular meetings and quality checks with partners, with some travel required.
Responsibilities
- Support the market management team on both operational and strategic work
- Support the management, negotiation, and improvement of supply cost, quality, and availability from external partners
- Support senior market managers in handling emails, cases, incidents, partner requests, and price adjustments from external partners
- Support the team in operational tasks such as onboarding/offboarding partners, creating and assigning pricing tables, quality control, and coaching partners on Blacklane standards
- Successfully manage the accounts and performance of strategic partners
- Build strong, authentic relationships with a network of partners
- Develop strategies to make Blacklane the partner of choice for partners in the market, including understanding their needs and identifying ways to reduce their operational costs
- Analyze relevant data and optimize performance based on findings
- Perform regular meetings and quality checks with partners in designated markets (up to 25% travel within US may be required)
Requirements
- 2+ years relevant work experience in a business environment
- Track record of working in Account Management, Operations, or Sales
- Experience negotiating and managing low-value contracts or commercial agreements
- Previous financial responsibilities for a business segment
- Convincing, personable, and helpful
- High degree of flexibility, team spirit, independence, and openness
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Team player with the ability to motivate the team
