About The Position

OHLA USA is seeking a Junior Estimator in Lisle, IL. The Junior Estimator will be responsible for coordinating bid documents, labor productions, subcontractor and vendor pricing, project start-up meetings, owner estimates, and cost to completes. This role requires a thorough investigation of specifications, scope of work, and drawings to develop a complete understanding of the requirements. The Junior Estimator will also conduct field visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions and adjust bid methods accordingly. Negotiation skills are essential for securing the best deals for cost, quality, and delivery. The position involves extensive interaction with the Contracts department and collaboration with Business Development, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure timely bid submissions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of estimating experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, etc.
• Experience in performing take-off, pricing, and communicating with subcontractors.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills.
• Solid time management and organizational skills.
• Track record of achievement and career progression.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Primavera, HCSS, On Screen Takeoff (OST), and AGTEK.
• Local agency experience (IDOT/TOLLWAY)

Responsibilities

• Investigate specifications, scope of work, and drawings for bids.
• Perform takeoffs and calculations accurately and timely.
• Conduct field visits to gather data on project site conditions.
• Negotiate cost, quality, and delivery using company buyout procedures.
• Understand contract documents and potential project risks.
• Interface with the Contracts department to address risks or issues.
• Help develop pricing strategies.
• Coordinate with various teams to ensure timely bid submissions.
• Draft proposals per RFP specifications with detailed pricing.
