About the position
EOS IT Solutions is seeking a technically proficient Junior Engineer to join their managed services infrastructure engineering team. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in IT, networking, and collaboration technologies, and a passion for continuous learning. They will work closely with the Service Delivery Manager and other team members to deliver high-quality support and solutions to clients. Troubleshooting technical issues, performing routine maintenance and upgrades, and ensuring security and compliance of collaboration systems are key responsibilities of this role. Additionally, the Junior Engineer will participate in cross-functional projects and stay current with the latest trends and developments in collaboration technologies and related fields.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to collaboration technologies, networking, and infrastructure
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching on collaboration systems, network infrastructure, and associated hardware and software components
- Contribute to the development and implementation of automation solutions using scripting languages like Bash, Python, and industry-standard frameworks
- Monitor system performance, perform capacity planning, and optimize infrastructure for maximum efficiency and reliability
- Ensure the security and compliance of collaboration systems by implementing and maintaining industry best practices and standards
- Provide timely technical support to clients, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to SLAs
- Participate in cross-functional projects and collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of collaboration solutions
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of technical processes, systems, configurations, and network topologies
- Stay current with the latest trends and developments in collaboration technologies, networking, cloud computing, and related fields
- Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, workshops, and industry events to enhance technical skills, knowledge, and professional growth
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster a collaborative learning environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in IT, networking, or collaboration technologies (video conferencing, VoIP, messaging platforms, etc.)
- Strong foundational knowledge in networking protocols, infrastructure, and troubleshooting techniques, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or similar, and experience with REST APIs
- Understanding of ITIL processes, service management principles, and IT service delivery best practices
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with the latest trends and developments in collaboration technologies, networking, cloud computing, and related fields
