Internship - Developer

Virtu is seeking a Developer Intern to join their highly talented team of software engineers. This internship program offers students a unique opportunity to learn about the firm and the world's financial markets through a comprehensive curriculum. As an intern, you will work on challenging development projects alongside senior team members to enhance the scalability, performance, and efficiency of Virtu's cutting-edge trading systems. This role provides hands-on experience in designing and architecting trading systems for scale, supporting the massive amounts of data that flow through Virtu's trading systems daily.

• Design, develop, and optimize proprietary, low-latency trading systems and trading algorithms
• Create powerful trading tools to facilitate all trading stages of the high-performance system
• Work on challenging development projects to improve scalability, performance, and efficiency of trading systems
• Learn how to design and architect a trading system for scale and handle massive amounts of data
• Collaborate with senior team members to enhance cutting-edge trading systems
• Have a strong academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Possess strong programming skills in Python and either Java or C++
• Familiarity with JavaScript
