GFT is seeking an Electrical Power Systems Engineering Intern to join our Electrical practice in Los Angeles, CA! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Los Angeles, CA office. At GFT, the electrical team is dedicated to creating efficient, innovative solutions for electrical systems, ensuring comfort and sustainability in every project. From energy-efficient power systems to advanced HVAC and plumbing designs, our team contributes to a resilient and sustainable built environment, pushing the boundaries of building system design and optimizing performance while addressing the unique needs of each facility.   • Conduct site assessments while adhering to electrical codes and company policies.
  • Create electrical engineering drawings in collaboration with Revit operators for accuracy.
  • Research equipment/materials and manage engineering data.
  • Assist with electrical engineering calculations such as cable sizing and voltage drop.
  • Help organize project files for delivery.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems from an ABET-accredited program, in the third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a related master's program.
  • Demonstrated interest and understanding of power system analysis through applied coursework, projects, or prior work experiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess a Driver's License and form of transportation.
  • Experience with CADD/Design and Revit software.
  • Prior electrical engineering internship or similar experience.
  • Active involvement in professional associations, on-campus groups, or community service.
  • Hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.
