About the position
We are seeking an intermediate Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team and contribute to building a self-service multi-cloud infrastructure platform. This role involves collaborating with internal customers to understand their platform needs, growing expertise in key platform technology areas, and automating processes. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree/diploma in Computer Science or Engineering, along with experience in cloud development, infrastructure as code, and agile development practices. Additionally, familiarity with containerization, Kubernetes, and code deployment technologies is desired.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with internal customers to understand their platform needs
- Grow expertise in key platform technology areas such as orchestration, observability, GitOps, networking, Kubernetes, authentication, authorization, resource isolation, security, and compliance
- Build new platform capabilities in a data-driven way, to improve platform reliability, scale, and resilience while delivering new platform behavior
- Automate tasks and processes
- Share knowledge of industry best practices and contribute to a strong engineering culture
- Stay current with technology trends and use innovative and critical thinking to develop new and innovative practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent related disciplines
- 4 years of engineering experience in a cloud development team, developing infrastructure as code
- Experience with one or more public cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS in production
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems and scripting languages
- Experience with infrastructure as code, especially Terraform and Ansible
- Experience with agile development practices
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes
- Experience with code deployment technologies and GitOps
- Familiarity with secrets management
- Able to clearly articulate technical strategies and recommendations to peers, for both functional and non-functional requirements
- Stay current with technology trends and use innovative and critical thinking to develop new and innovative practices
