About the position
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Web-Based Training (WBT) Instructional Systems Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing Section 508 compliant WBT training materials packages, including slides, activities, worksheets, and graphics. You will also analyze existing course content to ensure it remains current and relevant, and apply adult learning principles to the design and development of curricular products. Additionally, you will collaborate with supervisors and peers to ensure alignment of course content and deliverables. A Bachelor's degree is required, along with a minimum of 3 years' experience in instructional design and WBT development.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new Section 508 compliant WBT training materials packages, including slides, activities, worksheets/handouts, job aids, graphics, script, and narration.
- Perform analysis of existing course content and/or SME materials to ensure courses remain current, relevant, and adhere to adult learning principles.
- Ensure alignment of style, branding, learning objectives, engagement, and activities across multiple curricular products.
- Apply adult learning principles to the design and development of all curricular products within the ADDIE model of instructional design.
- Track curricular feedback and cross-walk items that may impact deliverables, modalities, or courses.
- Collaborate with supervisor and peers to ensure inter-modal alignment of course content and stylistic elements.
- Track and communicate project status with supervisor, including potential mitigation strategies for risks.
- Deliver all final deliverables and intermediate builds on time and accurately.
- Attend internal coordination meetings regularly and client meetings as needed to present updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required
- Master's degree (MA/MS) preferred
- Minimum 3 years' experience providing instructional design expertise, including analysis, design, and WBT development
- Minimum 3 years' experience creating adult-learning content for a government contract or in a corporate environment
- Minimum 3 years' direct experience creating adult-learning content using Articulate Storyline 360
- Deep knowledge and experience with adult learning, objective creation, and eLearning content development
- Expert in Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Expert in Articulate Storyline 360 (not Rise), including SCORM content packaging and specifications
- Experience with 508 policies and courseware design of web-based trainings
