About The Position

The Counsel position within State Farm's Privacy and Information Security Unit (PISU) focuses on providing legal advice related to privacy, information security, risk, and compliance. This role involves collaboration with various legal practice groups and business leaders to navigate the evolving landscape of laws and technology. Requirements

• Juris doctorate (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar.
• 5+ years of experience with privacy and/or information security laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with risk and/or compliance programs.
• Demonstrated adaptability and learning agility in a collaborative environment.
• Eligibility to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately.

• Familiarity with State Farm's company structure and general departments.
• Ability to anticipate legal issues and enable clients' needs through practical, preventative law.

Responsibilities

• Advise on enterprise programs related to privacy, information security, risk, and compliance.
• Provide legal advice on federal and state privacy and information security requirements.
• Support enterprise risk management and compliance and ethics programs.
• Advise on information retention, crisis management, AML/OFAC, and business continuity.
• Collaborate with peers in other legal practice groups and business leaders.
