About The Position

The Imagery Scientist role at NV5 Geospatial involves defining, processing, executing, analyzing, and exploiting imagery to support the geospatial and intelligence community. This position is available at multiple levels (Junior, Middle, Senior) and is focused on leveraging unique skill sets to contribute to national security missions. The role requires collaboration with a team of geospatial experts and offers opportunities for professional growth in a flexible work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Remote Sensing, Applied Physics, Engineering, or Mathematics; additional experience can substitute for education.
  • Minimum of five years of applied imagery intelligence or imagery science experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple industry sensor types and their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Proficiency in commercial imagery manipulation software applications and tools, such as ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, etc.
  • Ability to perform detailed end-to-end source management performance analysis.
  • Ability to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data.
  • Creativeness to introduce novel analytical techniques and optimize performance.
  • Understanding of various satellite orbits, sensor types, and industry standards for imagery capture.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply mathematical analysis to raster data.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-tempo environment.
  • Clear and efficient communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in common geospatial software applications such as Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, MongoDB, etc.
  • Familiarity with JEMA and/or Brewlytics.
  • Capability to perform mensuration and/or targeting from imagery sources.
  • Experience in the Intelligence Community introducing documented imagery solutions.
  • Knowledge of intelligence operations and GEOINT phenomenology.
  • Current GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations (GPC-F).

Responsibilities

  • Define, process, execute, analyze, and exploit imagery for analysis supporting the geospatial and intelligence community.
  • Apply, develop, and advance technical concepts and methodologies for exploitation, analysis, technical assessments, and intelligence production.
  • Aid in the design, production, and implementation of a federated approach to provide end-to-end source performance metrics.
  • Perform detailed end-to-end source management performance analysis to support multi-source requirements.
  • Identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to produce and enhance products, processes, and systems.
  • Investigate and introduce novel analytical techniques, data mining and retrieval, and statistical and mathematical analyses to identify trends and solve analytical problems.
