About The Position

Join Unilever Ice Cream as an Ice Cream Engineer, focused on improvement and reliability in our St. Albans, VT location. Our ice cream business is part of the rapidly growing snacking and refreshment industry, featuring top brands like Ben & Jerry's, Breyers, and Magnum. The Vermont factory operates 24/7 in a dynamic environment, emphasizing collaborative cross-functional teams and a focus on World Class Manufacturing (WCM). The role of the FI Reliability Engineer is crucial for driving continuous improvement, eliminating losses and waste, and enhancing the stability of our technical packaging equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience in engineering or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Focused Improvement and World Class Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the food or beverage industry.
  • Knowledge of technical packaging equipment.
  • Project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the continuous improvement program for the site.
  • Eliminate losses and waste while increasing the stability of technical packaging equipment.
  • Utilize Focused and Quality Improvement methods to address losses in Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Customer Service, and Logistics.
  • Act as a technical advisor to production team members, providing coaching in phenomena identification and root cause analysis.
  • Collect and analyze complex data to understand and address the root causes of losses.
  • Master the WCM methodology and coach factory teams through the improvement program.
  • Drive change and optimize resource utilization through understanding time studies and material flow.
  • Manage and drive completion of small-scale capital projects.
