About The Position

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Dover, New Jersey. This position provides HR operational and recruiting support for a multishift manufacturing group of approximately 900 non-union employees. Under the guidance of the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will assist in various HR functions including recruiting, employee relations, and compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of Human Resources/recruiting experience.
  • Excellent computer skills - MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR, SPHR & MBA are a plus.
  • Human Resources Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and connect at all levels in the organization.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working with Excel, Oracle HRIS.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Full cycle recruiting for salaried and hourly positions.
  • Assist with new employee orientation for all Dover, NJ hires.
  • Create and modify job descriptions within all departments.
  • Assist or lead Affirmative Action reporting.
  • Assist with workforce reductions, administering layoffs in accordance with policy.
  • Facilitate Hourly/NES Employee Performance management cycles.
  • Assist with workplace investigations to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Gather and review attrition data with the goal to lower attrition year over year.
  • Participate in segment Kaizens as needed.
  • Participate in talent development planning.
  • Assist with external apprentice program and interns.
  • Assist with internal apprentice program focused on Machinists, Mechanics/Electricians, Automation Techs, and Engineering Techs.
  • Perform other assignments as required.
