Requirements

  • HR related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Personable, able to deal with a variety of people comfortably and pleasantly.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Currently attending a College or University with a major in Human Resources, Business or related discipline (Junior or Senior).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Quick learner, feels comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support to the Human Resources Team (including Health & Safety).
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information obtained, written or verbal, within the Human Resources Department.
  • Assist in various HR activities such as, documentation of policies, new hire orientation, training documentation, etc.
  • Facilitate the coordination of all immigration-related matters, serving as the liaison between employees and the corporate immigration department.
  • Assist recruitment of vacant positions as required (screening of resumes, phone screens, interview scheduling, reference checks, coordinating conversions from temp employees to permanent employees, etc.).
  • Prepare Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents for site-wide communications (e.g. training material).
  • Properly handle employee requests through responsiveness, follow-up, and escalation.
