About The Position

The New York State Department of Transportation is seeking candidates for the position of Highway Maintenance Worker 1/Highway Maintenance Worker Trainee 1/Highway Maintenance Worker Trainee 2 in Region 4, specifically in Wyoming County. Requirements

• Must be 18 years old.
• Pass a physical/medical examination and drug test.
• Possess a Class D Driver License for Trainee 1.
• Possess a Class A or B Commercial Driver License for Trainee 2.
• Satisfactory completion of Highway Maintenance Worker Traineeship 2 or one year of experience in highway construction or maintenance for Highway Maintenance Worker 1.
• Possess two NYSDOT equipment operation certifications and specific certifications for Highway Maintenance Worker 1.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating a NYSDOT large dump truck.
• Current CDL Medical Certificate (form MCSA 5876) for bypassing pre-employment physical.
