About The Position

The High School Equivalency Education Instructor position at NFI Massachusetts Inc. is a per diem role focused on providing individualized educational support to at-risk youth. The instructor will create tailored lesson plans and deliver instruction in core subjects, both in-person and virtually, to help students achieve their academic goals. This role is ideal for retired or semi-retired teachers looking to make a positive impact in the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • One to two years of related teaching experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MA teaching licensure preferred.
  • Experience teaching any content area for Grades 6-12, Adult Based Education, and/or High School Equivalency Preparation.
  • High energy level and superior interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  • Experience with developing virtual lesson plans (Google Classroom/ZOOM tutoring).
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with at-risk youth education.
  • Familiarity with HiSET/GED preparation materials.

Responsibilities

  • Create individualized curriculum for students based on academic goals and abilities.
  • Provide individual instruction on core subjects including Math, Writing, Reading, Social Studies, and Science.
  • Assess students using approved program and HiSET/GED materials.
  • Adhere to all instruction, evaluation, funding, and execution policies and procedures.
  • Work with students using a virtual platform and/or hybrid model.
