About the position

Clearwater Central Catholic High School is a college-preparatory institution dedicated to educating students to use their minds for truth, hearts for love, and hands for service. We are seeking a dedicated and professional School Counselor to join our counseling department. The ideal candidate will uphold ethical and professional standards while effectively implementing and managing a comprehensive guidance and college counseling program that promotes our CCC core values and student success. School counselors are highly educated, professionally certified individuals who help students succeed in school and plan their career. An integral part of the total education system, school counselors help students form healthy goals, mindsets and behaviors. With the aid of a school counselor, students learn to develop effective collaboration and cooperation skills, to practice perseverance, to develop time management and study skills, and to learn self-motivation and self-direction habits.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage a comprehensive guidance and college counseling program.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in counseling practices.
  • Assist students in forming healthy goals, mindsets, and behaviors.
  • Help students develop effective collaboration and cooperation skills.
  • Guide students in practicing perseverance and developing time management and study skills.
  • Support students in learning self-motivation and self-direction habits.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
  • Valid state certification as a school counselor.
  • Strong understanding of college counseling processes and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and faculty.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a college-preparatory school setting.
  • Familiarity with Roman Catholic teachings and values.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
