About The Position

The Healthcare Instructor at the Community College of Rhode Island is responsible for teaching the Medical Assistant workforce training program and other healthcare training programs. This part-time role involves both clinical and non-clinical instruction, focusing on student development and preparation for careers in healthcare. The instructor will collaborate with other educators and program leadership to ensure high-quality education and successful student outcomes, adapting to various teaching methods and student needs.

Requirements

• Experience in a healthcare environment as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a minimum of 5 years.
• Experience in traditional instruction, peer training, or on-the-job mentoring.
• Intermediate digital communication technology skills (presentation tools, online meetings, etc.).
• Experience with classroom/team management.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Creativity and flexibility in the classroom.

• Teaching experience in similar post-secondary programs.

Responsibilities
