About the position
Chronosphere is seeking a leader for their product management team who will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of product managers. The role involves bridging the gap between customers and the engineering team, implementing the product development life cycle, and understanding the marketplace and competition. The ideal candidate should have experience managing a team of product managers, delivering software with agile processes, and operating software as a service. They should also have a strong background in cloud native monitoring and collaborating with UX to build delightful features.
Responsibilities
- Build, lead, encourage, coach, and mentor the team of product managers
- Guide and implement the product development life cycle (PDLC) with engineering and UX teams
- Understand the marketplace and competition
- Bridge investment strategy and strategic roadmap into execution by small feature teams
- Coordinate with product marketing on positioning and messaging
- Communicate priorities and roadmap, and align the team around them
- Evangelize the product and philosophy internally and externally
- Use data to drive decisions
- Handle user problems with engineering, customer success, and field teams
- Drive clarity
- Investigate the market and user base and in-flight development projects in the first 30 days
- Manage a team of 7 product managers within 3 months
- Drive the hiring process and manage assignments to feature teams
- Have 5+ years of experience managing a team of product managers
- Deliver software with agile processes and tight feedback loops
- Familiarity with building and operating software as a service
- Success in a high-growth startup environment
- Attention to detail
- Experience partnering with UX to build delightful features
- Familiarity with cloud native monitoring technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus)
- Collaborate with recruiting, make hiring decisions, close candidates, and build a diverse and inclusive team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing a team of product managers
- Track record of delivering software with agile processes and tight feedback loops
- Familiarity building and operating software as a service
- History of success in a high-growth startup environment
- Obsession with attention to detail
- Experience partnering with UX to build delightful features
- Knowledge and experience with cloud native monitoring technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Prometheus
- Strong background in collaborating with recruiting, making hiring decisions, closing candidates, and building a diverse and inclusive team
