As a Hardware Board Design Engineer at AMD, you will play a crucial role in developing advanced systems for the data center AI acceleration markets. This position involves leading the design team in creating high-quality products from concept to full-volume production, collaborating with various engineering teams, and driving innovation in system architecture and hardware design.

  • Lead the development of system and board hardware from inception to full-volume production.
  • Work closely with power supply designs, mechanical and thermal teams, firmware development, PCB layout engineers, and design stakeholders.
  • Technically lead cross-functional engineering teams responsible for system and hardware development of AI acceleration-based systems.
  • Drive technical definition/architecture and program execution in a dynamic development environment.
  • Define and manage validation and assist with hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and design verification.
  • Create and publish design technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • 12+ years of board hardware and system design experience.
  • Proven ability to drive product development from concept to mass production.
  • Ability to write product specifications and manage BOM.
  • Solid experience in high-speed mixed-signal design techniques.
  • Strong experience in Cadence tools, such as Concept Capture and Allegro PCB.
  • Experience with power integrity for high-power ASIC products.
  • Experience with hardware lab tools, digital oscilloscopes, and other common lab equipment.
  • Understanding of industrial standards: high-speed/digital interfaces (USB, PCI Express), memory interface, I2C/SMBus/PMBus, SPI, JTAG.
  • Experience with scripting to assist with daily tasks (Python, BASH, Perl, etc).
  • Specific experience with switches, CPUs, FPGAs, and their board design including SI and PI knowledge.
  • Base pay dependent on skills and experience.
