About The Position

The Guest Relations Attendant at Carle Health serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors at the hospital. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming environment, ensuring that guests receive assistance with parking, transportation, and any inquiries they may have. The attendant is responsible for maintaining a professional appearance, providing minimal physical assistance to patients, and ensuring a smooth flow of service at various entrance points of the hospital.

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class D Driver's License in the State of Illinois.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Ability to provide minimal physical assistance to patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome every patient, visitor, and employee in a friendly and professional manner.
• Safely park and return customer vehicles, managing keys accurately.
• Provide minimal physical assistance to patients, including transporting them using wheelchairs as needed.
• Drive departmental courtesy vans to transport patients between their homes and the medical center.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at assigned posts, performing light housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Exhibit professionalism and a can-do attitude in all interactions with guests and staff.
• Respond promptly to visitor requests and complaints, maintaining a sense of urgency.
• Complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner, following up on assignments as needed.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, using proper radio/phone techniques when necessary.
