About The Position

The position involves establishing a client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel. The goal is to ensure that room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded. The role includes actively prospecting and qualifying new business, negotiating rates and services, and maintaining client relationships. The individual will also be responsible for producing sales-related reports and forecasts, attending trade shows, and promoting teamwork across departments.

Requirements

  • College Degree plus 2-3 years sales or marketing related experience.
  • Prior hotel sales experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English; other languages preferred.
  • Ability to frequently stand or move within and outside the facility.
  • Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • High level of competency in using data management systems, preferably Delphi.

Responsibilities

  • Establish client base through direct outside and inside selling.
  • Achieve personal and team sales goals.
  • Negotiate guest room rates and hotel services within approved guidelines.
  • Monitor inquiry calls and provide client proposals.
  • Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services.
  • Arrange and conduct special events and site inspections.
  • Maintain client files and update information daily.
  • Produce monthly sales-related reports and forecasts.
  • Attend and represent hotel at trade shows and conventions.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through communication.
  • Interact with outside contacts to ensure repeat business.
  • Assist in developing and implementing sales plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • May serve as 'manager on duty' as required.
