Our client, a leading fintech company, is looking for a Group Manager, Accounting Operations Lending. This role is pivotal in transforming small business lending by leveraging technology and data to simplify the process. The position is hybrid, requiring 2 days per week in the Mountain View office. Requirements

  • 10 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in fintech lending is a plus.
  • Background in a Big 4 accounting firm auditing financial institutions is a plus.
  • Expertise in technical accounting, including credit losses, allowance for loan losses, ASC 606, and ASC 860.
  • Strong GAAP and financial accounting skills with the ability to document conclusions in technical white papers.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in large accounting software packages (e.g., Oracle Financials).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
  • CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing, and other accounting functions.
  • Direct accounting policies and practices; collaborate with internal auditors, public accountants, regulatory examiners, and other financial professionals.
  • Assess risk over accounts and areas of responsibility, ensuring financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Research technical accounting issues and proper accounting treatment for journal entries and audit evidence.
  • Oversee the month and quarter-end close process for the Lending Accounting team.
  • Prepare reports for management and schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
  • Document company positions on technical accounting issues and communicate effectively with business partners.
  • Support compliance and improve processes and internal controls.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
  • Work with external auditors to support financial statement audits and control environment testing.
