About The Position

The Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) at VASA Fitness is responsible for providing an exceptional member experience through engaging and energetic group fitness classes. This role emphasizes creating a supportive community while ensuring safety and effectiveness in exercise demonstrations. The GFI embodies the core values of VASA Fitness, promoting inclusivity and motivation among participants.

Requirements

  • 0-1 year of experience in personal training, small group training, or group fitness training.
  • NCCA-accredited Personal Training or Group Fitness Certification.
  • General knowledge and experience with kinesiology, exercise science, and physical fitness.
  • Current CPR/AED Certification.
  • Must hold current certification for applicable format (e.g., Zumba, Les Mills, Yoga, Cycle Certifications).
  • Passionate about fitness and helping others reach their goals.
  • Energizing and positive attitude with the ability to promote a high-energy environment.
  • Experience in leading, communicating, coaching, teaching, or performing in front of a group.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in Personal/Small Group Training or Group Fitness Instruction.
  • Experience leading group classes at a specialty studio.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional fitness experience to all studio members by exemplifying VASA's UPLIFT core values.
  • Ensure the Vasa Uplift Member Experience (VUME) is executed in every class.
  • Prepare the room and greet members on time, ensuring punctuality and readiness for classes.
  • Safely and accurately demonstrate exercises and movements while actively monitoring class performance.
  • Execute post-class procedures including cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing the space.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by promptly responding to member needs and concerns.
  • Communicate clearly and teach safe, effective classes that cater to various fitness levels and abilities.
  • Create an inclusive, fun, and supportive community within classes.
  • Actively promote classes to retain and invite new participants.
