About The Position

The Grocery Merchandising Assistant Category Manager I for the DSD Beverage Team is responsible for assisting category managers in managing a discrete category, focusing on building assortments, executing pricing and promotions, and analyzing data. Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in replenishment buying, merchandising, or brand management.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent oral/written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with Kroger Category Management Systems, Business Objects, and Enterprise Sales Planning (ESP).
• Division store management experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a buyer for a smaller category with ultimate sign-off from the category manager.
• Assist category managers with tactical work in building assortments and managing the KOMPASS process.
• Execute pricing and promotions while gathering and analyzing relevant data.
• Make recommendations on assortment and plan-o-grams for the category area of responsibility.
• Manage data analysis and day-to-day communication with vendors and divisions.
• Support the plan-o-gram process, including organizing templates and communications.
• Monitor SKU performance to meet financial and strategic goals and establish feedback loops with the category manager.
• Assist with ad-hoc analysis to drive business decisions and evaluate pricing strategies.
• Organize and manage information sharing with vendors, including product lists and forecast needs.
