About The Position

Penn State Extension Better Kid Care is seeking a full-time Graphic Design Specialist. The successful candidate will work in tandem with other Better Kid Care designers and a team of content specialists to create resources for our online professional development courses. Work may include the creation of handouts, illustrations, presentation materials, video clips, custom animation, social media graphics, newsletters in Mailchimp, and H5P interactive content. Daily activities may also include marketing and outreach development. This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. This position has the potential to be fully remote.

Requirements

• Associate's degree and two or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with interactive document experience using InDesign.
• Graphic design experience with typography, page design, and layout for web and print delivery.
• Basic HTML, CSS, and Plone (or other CMS) skills.
• Knowledge of YouTube, Kaltura, and social media platforms.
• Working knowledge of implementing WCAG 2.2 requirements for publishing accessible PDFs and content online.
• Previous experience and a degree in a multimedia-related field.

Nice To Haves

• Strong illustration ability and experience with H5P.
• Experience with FileMaker Pro 23 and Mailchimp.
