About The Position

The Grant Coordinator for Kay County Community Based Prevention Services at Oklahoma State University is responsible for coordinating a funded project aimed at community needs assessment and prevention programming. This role involves working independently and collaboratively to develop work plans, conduct training, and provide technical assistance while adhering to the Strategic Prevention Framework model. The Coordinator will engage with community agencies, maintain records, and disseminate information related to substance abuse prevention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • One year of experience in community work, prevention programming, or community organizing and assessment.
  • Eligibility for Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) to be attained within 18 months of hire date.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues and community members.
  • Knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework model and principles of grant writing.
  • Skills in effective training and supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in environmental prevention programming.
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in substance abuse prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the effort of the funded project including the development and facilitation of a Community Data Work-group (CDW).
  • Conduct community needs assessments and surveys as needed.
  • Develop work plans and implement work plan objectives in collaboration with the partnering coalition.
  • Conduct training and organize special events related to prevention programming.
  • Provide technical assistance and attend local, regional, and statewide meetings as required.
  • Identify community needs and gaps in services and network with community agencies.
  • Disseminate information and referral sources regarding Alcohol, Marijuana, and Stimulant other drug (ATOD) prevention.
  • Maintain contact with local governments, schools, and community coalitions.
  • Recruit project advocacy volunteers and develop print and media articles for publication.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to address gaps in knowledge and services.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and current records and submit all required reports in a timely manner.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $39,175.00 - $54,000.00 based on available funding.
  • Full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
