About The Position

The Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer position at Penguin Recruitment Ltd offers an opportunity for a recent graduate to join a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Norfolk. The role focuses on assisting with structural engineering design and analysis, while providing a pathway for professional development and membership with the ICE or IStructE.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (MEng, BEng, BSc, or equivalent).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ideally 1-2 years of experience in structural engineering design within a consulting environment.
• Proficiency in structural design, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
• Experience with AutoCAD and ability to produce design drawings (3D modelling is advantageous).
• Strong desire for career development and progression towards professional membership with the ICE or IStructE.
• A full UK driving licence and own transport are required.

Nice To Haves

• Roads and drainage design experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural engineering design and analysis using manual calculations and software.
• Gain experience in designing steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry structures.
• Prepare project design summary drawings and specifications using AutoCAD.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on various civil and structural projects.
• Support the development of roads and drainage designs if applicable.
