About The Position

The Golf Course Irrigation Technician at Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa is responsible for the operation and repair of the irrigation system to ensure optimal water distribution for turf health. This role requires a proactive approach to daily tasks, teamwork, and adherence to quality guidelines, all while maintaining a positive attitude in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of related work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems including pump stations and components.
• Ability to use necessary hand tools for the position.
• Ability to handle extreme weather conditions outdoors.
• Must be able to lift over 30 pounds in various positions (horizontal, overhead, floor to waist).
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend/stoop, and perform arm/hand movements throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate and repair the irrigation system to ensure proper water distribution for optimum turf health.
• Prepare for the day's work by arriving in uniform and with a positive attitude.
• Understand daily job assignments and their relation to the day's play.
• Select appropriate equipment for job assignments based on knowledge of various applications.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of golf, its rules, and expected playing conditions.
• Function as a team member to accomplish established goals.
• Carry out golf course maintenance tasks with pride and ownership to meet quality guidelines.
• Inspect tools and equipment before, during, and after use.
• Operate all equipment safely and report any damage or performance issues to a supervisor.
• Understand the work order system for equipment repair and maintenance.
• Familiarize with Omni Hotel rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
