About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Environmental Health, Safety & Quality Specialist to support and enhance our workplace programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Environmental Health Safety & Quality (EHS&Q) SOP's and regulations, ISO 9001, implementing safety programs, conducting audits, managing incidents/non-conformances, and fostering a strong safety and quality culture within the responsible facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in an EHS or Quality role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for identifying workplace hazards.
  • An awareness and enthusiasm around quality and safety.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities to engage employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience within manufacturing & heavy industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Facility Safety and Quality Lead, providing guidance and support for all safety and quality-related initiatives under the direction of the Service Center Manager.
  • Conduct monthly internal Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) audits to ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to EHS&Q and ensure site-wide compliance.
  • Support and investigate workplace events, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Support and promote the Behavior-Based Safety initiatives to encourage a proactive approach to workplace safety.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the local Safety Teams Programs, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation and provide ongoing employee training on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Support the development of Job Hazard Analysis to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Oversee medical surveillance scheduling, ensuring timely health evaluations for employees exposed to occupational hazards.
  • Collect and maintain environmental manifests, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with waste disposal regulations.
  • Act as focal point for the facility's ISO 9001 certification.
  • Evaluate all non-conformances to determine the proper path forward.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submittal of Non-Conformance Reports and Quality Action Requests.
  • Manage and maintain the calibration program for the facility.
  • Ensure shop operations and procedures are carried out in accordance with the Quality Manual.
  • Monitor and communicate scrap and rework costs to minimize the cost of quality for the facility.
