About The Position

The Garage Coordinator at Baker Commodities Inc. is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Garage Department through diligent data entry, record keeping, part procurement, and vehicle transfers. This role supports mechanics as needed and involves handling heavy truck parts and chemicals, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining safety and compliance within the garage environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class C License and acceptable MVR.
• Experience with data entry and Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to climb trucks and trailers.
• Vendor relation skills.
• Open availability Monday through Friday from 6 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and filing, including tracking and logging work orders and preparing vehicle work orders.
• Order and pick up parts from vendors multiple times a day based on work orders or oral instructions.
• Coordinate the drop-off and pick-up of company vehicles with managers and other employees at various locations.
• Load and unload truck parts by hand and with industrial equipment like forklifts and hoists.
• Assist in shipping and receiving with emergency part runs for the plant.
• Help mechanics with heavy lifting and repairs as needed.
• Conduct department safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and city requirements.
• Maintain vehicle registrations and apply decals onto company vehicles.
• Interact professionally and ethically with coworkers and vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operation of the business.
