Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of payroll accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other payroll software systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with teams and stakeholders.
  • A problem-solving mindset with a focus on system enhancements and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all payroll-related activities and ensure compliance with multi-state tax laws.
  • Process Bi-Weekly Payroll for household employers and internal employees across multiple states.
  • Submit Payroll Transactions related to banking, taxes, deductions, and garnishments.
  • Maintain Payroll Data by entering, updating, and managing employee information in the payroll system.
  • Regularly maintain and improve the time tracking system to ensure smooth payroll processing.
  • Prepare Payroll Reports and provide them to relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Process tax filings and payments, including state, federal, and local tax reports and W-2/1099 distribution.
  • Monitor changes in payroll regulations and adjust systems and processes as needed to comply with new laws.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date payroll records.
  • Supervise the Administrative Assistant, providing coaching, performance management, and support.
  • Prepare and provide financial statements to Exec and Senior Leadership teams.
