About the position

Houlihan Lokey, Inc. is seeking a Financial Analyst and an Associate to join our Financial and Valuation Advisory team. The Financial Analyst will focus on complex analytics, financial models, and valuation, collaborating with various teams within the firm to deliver investment banking services. Responsibilities include analyzing historical and projected financial information, performing due diligence, conducting industry research, valuing companies, building financial models, preparing presentations for boards and special committees, participating in business development initiatives, and supporting client relationships. The Associate will have similar responsibilities but will also manage analysts and have more advanced analytical duties. Both positions require strong analytical skills, communication abilities, and a solid work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and explaining historical and projected financial information
  • Performing business and financial due diligence
  • Conducting industry and sub-sector research
  • Valuing companies, businesses, and securities
  • Building complex financial models
  • Assisting with the preparation of board/special committee presentations
  • Participating in pitches and business development initiatives
  • Supporting relationships with current and prospective clients

Requirements

  • At least one year of prior investment banking, valuation or related experience for Financial Analyst
  • Prior investment banking, valuation, or related experience for Associate
  • Strong accounting, finance, financial modeling and analytical abilities
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Independent thinker and resourceful problem solver
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Nice-to-haves

  • An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field, with academic distinction
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
  • At least three years of experience in financial services for Associate
  • A graduate degree for Associate
