About The Position

The Field Service Engineer (Water Treatment) role involves providing technical support and maintenance for water treatment systems across various industries. The position requires significant travel within the Philadelphia area and surrounding regions, focusing on customer service, troubleshooting, and operational support for analytical instrumentation. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, detail-oriented, and capable of managing their own schedule while ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification or international equivalent and 2+ years of service/maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation, Controls, or programming and/or water treatment equipment may be considered for entry-level candidates.
  • Experience with PLC control systems, PLC programming, and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to customer sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ultra-pure water applications or operation of analytical instrumentation in a lab environment.
  • Ability to gain and maintain access to customer sites, including nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites and perform preventative maintenance and related services on TOC equipment.
  • Plan, schedule, and confirm customer services, including coordination of travel and parts shipments.
  • Maintain administrative duties, parts inventory, and relevant training records.
  • Respond to customer calls and participate in territory sales and service team meetings.
  • Provide on-demand contract services with response commitments for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on various systems and equipment.
  • Conduct analytical testing such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, and other site-specific tests.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and chemicals.
  • Create and maintain site paperwork and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed.
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as motors, PLCs, VFDs, valves, and process pumps.
  • Partner with customer management and operation teams to advise on system performance and maintenance.
  • Write clear and concise reports for customers.
  • Assist with special projects and new hire training as assigned.
