About The Position

At GMR's “Fifty/50 FabShop”, we are looking for career minded individuals to build our future with, and we have a lot to offer! As a Fabricator (Level 2) with GMR's “Fifty/50 FabShop”, you will join a growing and exciting operation where you will be integral to the fabrication/production of large event elements, mobile units, trade shows, museums, and special event properties. Your skills as a Painter, finisher, welder and fabricator will be welcomed and embraced by a team that is dedicated to setting the highest quality standards amongst our competition and accommodating the everchanging desires of our vast cliental. Fabricators at this level should have a broad understanding of the painting process, using many different finishing products and techniques on a variety of substrates, including wooden, metallic, and plastic. Another valuable skillset to bring to the team is understanding GMAW/GTAW Aluminum and Steel welding processes, and having a broad understanding of blueprint reading, machine functionality and maintenance, and a basic working knowledge of metallic materials. Bring with you a willingness to learn new techniques and a desire to drive production efficiencies and quality standards forward!

Requirements

  • Versatile fabricator with the ability to calculate dimensions and inspect materials.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Confident with all shop equipment and safety practices including table saws, routers, laminating, welders, mills, lathe, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with great attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GMAW/GTAW Aluminum and Steel welding processes.
  • Broad understanding of machine functionality and maintenance.
  • Basic working knowledge of metallic materials.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate the measures of dimensions and inspect materials and structures.
  • Monitor and adjust the welding, fabricating or finishing process as needed.
  • Prepare parts or products for shipping.
  • Read and follow production schedules.
  • Create artistic and accurate representations of rendered elements using various materials and fabrication.
  • Work independently when fit.
