Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding the technical requirements and constraints for key architectural drivers of cloud computing.
  • Designs, coordinates, and maintains the architecture of DTE’s cloud-based applications and services.
  • Identifies specific technology components and solutions that satisfy business, technology, security, and regulatory objectives.
  • Assesses the project requirements of a cloud-based solutions and strategies.
  • Provides technical guidance for cloud services and areas such as cloud application development, scalability, and integration.
  • Optimizes the efficiency of cloud applications by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with other business units.
  • Coaches junior team members in technical and agile principles while working on various product teams to support a myriad of complex digital initiatives across the business.
  • Governs the cloud environments that host DTE cloud applications by creating and maintaining documentation of cloud architectures, technical operations and process workflows.
  • Benchmarks and conducts research of emerging technologies to determine impact to our cloud computing strategy and provides solutions to leadership for positive impact to DTE cloud-based programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems discipline and 8 years of experience in technology field, inclusive of 5 years with systems development and systems architecture, software architecture, design, and implementation of cloud initiatives leveraging agile and development and operations (DevOps) methodologies; OR
  • Associate degree in information systems discipline and 10 years of experience in technology field, inclusive of 5 years with systems development and systems architecture, software architecture, design, and implementation of cloud initiatives leveraging agile and development and operations (DevOps) methodologies; OR
  • High school diploma or GED and 12 years in technology field, inclusive of 5 years with systems development and systems architecture, software architecture, design, and implementation of cloud initiatives leveraging agile and development and operations (DevOps) methodologies.
  • Microsoft Azure Architect certification or 3 years’ experience as a cloud solution architect in Microsoft Azure.

Nice-to-haves

  • TOGAF 9.2 Certification required.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies for deploying and automating cloud infrastructure and platform services, including zero downtime deployment strategies such as red/black or blue/green deployments.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies for horizontally and vertically scaling, sync/async, BASE/ACID, multi-zone, and/or multi-region applications.
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycles and cloud economics, including knowledge of consumption-driven total cost of ownership.
  • Knowledgeable in the security implications of public & private cloud infrastructure design.
  • Understanding of network architectures suitable for different cloud topologies with familiarity with SLO, SLA, and OLAs for cloud services and organizations.
