The role involves providing longitudinal care, managing diseases over time, and addressing overflow and sick visits. There is a strong emphasis on preventative care, managing stable acute illnesses, health promotion, and preventing illness and injury. Alternatively, the position may also function independently in an on-site occupational or teammate health clinic, focusing on single-visit encounters with an emphasis on illness reprieve and ensuring medication and vaccination compliance. The role includes coordinating staffing and orientation for assigned team members, planning and conducting ongoing education and training, and maintaining infection control and safety standards while promoting patient-centered communication and care.
