About The Position

This position is located in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations. The supervisor is Sherri Miotla. This position is Non-Bargaining Unit and is subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements as well as security ownership restriction reporting requirements. The Executive Technical Assistant (ETA) will be responsible for developing, evaluating, coordinating, reviewing, monitoring, and advising the Executive Director for Operations (EDO) and other senior officials on administrative and technical issues affecting the effectiveness and efficiency of NRC offices. The role includes timely review of work products, maintaining knowledge of major OEDO and NRC program work, identifying major issues for management attention, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • This is a Drug Testing position.
  • Must be able to meet/maintain security & suitability requirements.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GG-14 grade level or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of NRC rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply NRC regulations related to nuclear reactors and materials.
  • Experience in coordinating major projects across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to analyze technical and policy issues independently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, coordinate, review, and monitor administrative and technical issues for the EDO and other senior officials.
  • Timely review of work products for alignment with EDO key messages.
  • Maintain general knowledge of major OEDO and NRC program work.
  • Identify major issues requiring management attention.
  • Coordinate with NRC program offices, ACRS, Commission staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a backup to other OEDO ETAs and Senior Communication Specialists.
  • Represent the OEDO on interoffice or interagency Task Groups.
