About the position

CACI is looking for an entry level engineer in support of the Navy, MSC, USCG or similar surface ship vessels. You will be working to solve and manage various technical problems in the area of Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems in support of the Machinery and Systems Engineering Managers. Concentration may include Knowledge in the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) standards as well as Navy’s Standards and requirements. Specific focus areas of proficiency in: Main Propulsion.

Responsibilities

  • Development of marine auxiliary and piping systems, review and analyzing preliminary and functional design documentation and development of ship system specifications.
  • Review and analysis of mechanical and electrical propulsion systems, and auxiliary/ piping systems for technical data packages developed to support design and construction of Navy and commercial vessels.
  • Provide engineering services support including Spec writing, design, mechanical calculations, outfitting design, marine drawing, selected record drawing (SRD) updates, ship checks and other technical work document preparation in accordance with drawing standards and good marine design practice.
  • Responsible for researching, planning, designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating auxiliary systems, mechanical and electro-mechanical components, controls, engines, machines and mechanical or thermal hydraulic systems.
  • Self-Starter, multi-task capability, technically savvy, interpersonal skills, team player and ability to market our CACI team capabilities.
  • Experience with applicable code and standards (e.g., ABS, NVR, SOLAS, ASTM, ANSI, and NFPA).

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree
  • US Citizen able to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Working experience with codes and standards similar to ABS, NVR, OSHA, NFPA, etc.
