Responsibilities
- Architect and engineer mission critical observability platform
- Build and lead high performing engineering teams
- Develop an ambitious technical roadmap in partnership with the Box Storage Platform product team

- Communicate effectively with peer engineering groups as well as cross-functional peers in Product and Core Platform teams

- Hire more epic engineers and lead a team of highly collaborative and skilled engineers
- Bridge communication between the US and Poland teams
- Ensure new modern architecture is designed with scalability and longevity in mind
- Champion data governance adoption
- Prioritize and manage planned and unplanned work effectively to find the best path forward for your team, your domain and for Box
- Deliver complex projects on time and have experience working in enterprise-grade production environments
- Build and maintain solutions to run on one or more of the public clouds (e.g., AWS, GCP, etc.)
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in building and leading high performing engineering teams
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- Experience in building and running observability infrastructure on a large scale, in the areas of logging using technologies like splunk, big query / search, metrics with wavefront/prometheus and distributed tracing with open telemetry
- Software Engineering experience building and maintaining Petabyte Scale Data Platforms distributed, building high-performance observability data pipeline to collect, transform and route logs, metrics and traces to various storage solution
- Solid understanding of distributed data processing and management frameworks (like Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Apache Flink etc) deployed in managed services like GCP dataflow
- Experience with containerization technologies(e.g, Docker, Kubernetes) , cloud orchestration technologies( e.g, terraform), data messaging technologies (e.g., GCP PubSub, Kafka) and configuration management/software delivery platforms (e.g, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
- Demonstrated capacity for empathy and for developing, growing and maintaining healthy engineering teams
- Demonstrated track record of delivering complex projects on time and have experience working in enterprise-grade production environments
- Experience building and maintaining solutions to run on one or more of the public clouds (e.g., AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Responsive person with a strong bias for action and strong technical aptitude
- Possess extraordinary organizational and analytical skills
- Experience in prioritizing and managing planned and unplanned worked effectively to find the best path forward for your team, your domain and for Box
