About The Position

The position is responsible for conducting sales calls for energy products within the assigned territory, which includes refined fuels, propane, lubricants, and other related merchandise and services for both current and new customer accounts. The role also involves assisting sales and delivery specialists with key account calls. The individual will implement company goals and objectives to grow the energy business and develop profitable professional relationships with customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related area or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years or more of business-related work experience.
  • Demonstrated sales leadership and ability to generate profitable sales.
  • Essential abilities in business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Obtain CDL driver's licenses with air brakes, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
  • Certified Employee Training Program (CTEP) certification required.
  • Ability to travel independently and overnight.
  • Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the energy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales calls for energy products within the assigned territory.
  • Assist sales & delivery specialists with key account calls.
  • Implement company goals and objectives to grow the energy business.
  • Develop an understanding of all energy product lines and marketing strategies.
  • Provide assistance with and implement sales strategies for existing and prospective customers.
  • Implement innovative sales programs and pricing strategies with the Marketing Manager.
  • Participate in sales activities such as customer meetings and trade shows.
  • Utilize target marketing and professional sales techniques.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Keep accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of energy product applications and market conditions.
  • Identify progressive customers and coordinate sharing of lists between sales representatives.
  • Quote prices and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Promote the use of credit programs as a sales tool.
