About The Position

The Electronics Test Technician at Burton Industries is responsible for ensuring the reliability of electronic products through testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic components and systems. This role involves developing test methods and apparatus to verify that products meet industry and customer specifications, as well as collaborating with engineering staff to improve processes and fixtures.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic components and systems.
  • Proficiency in using test instruments and interpreting test results.
  • Ability to program electronic boards and devices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with machine operation (PNP, Selective Solder, Wave Solder, Testers, AOI).
  • Knowledge of ISO compliance and quality control processes.

Responsibilities

  • Test the functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts to identify and correct defects and malfunctions.
  • Read test schedules, job folders, schematics, etc. to determine test procedures and equipment to be used.
  • Utilize test instruments to test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts.
  • Interpret results of tests based on dials and digital displays and compare with customer specifications or industry standards.
  • Record test data or plot results on graphs.
  • Program boards as necessary.
  • Construct and utilize test fixtures and procedures to identify malfunctions and correct failed assemblies.
  • Assemble experimental circuitry or completed prototype models.
  • Identify and recommend changes to simplify assembly and its maintenance.
  • Build and maintain test equipment and fixtures.
  • Analyze and interpret test data.
  • Troubleshoot failed assemblies and adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components.
  • Identify malfunctions and coordinate with engineering staff on continuous improvement methods for effective fixtures and procedures.
  • Devise test equipment setup and execute test methods and procedures.
  • Load codes and software into programming devices and program components or assemblies.
  • Offer input and assistance on layout and assembly procedures and problems to engineering staff.
