Electrical Engineer, Early Career

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at Helion, a fusion power company based in Everett, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and fabricating analog and digital electronic circuits, as well as developing in-house data acquisition capabilities and electronic instruments. You will work closely with our Electrical Engineering Manager and collaborate with a team of experienced technicians. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of plasma diagnostics and be a part of building the world's first fusion power plant.

• Design and fabricate analog and digital electronic circuits for plasma diagnostics
• Develop next-generation in-house data acquisition capabilities and electronic instruments
• Perform qualification and testing plans on new or modified designs
• Support senior electrical engineers in legacy design updates and documentation
• Learn from historical engineering approaches and design novel hardware
• Apply engineering first-principles and method-based thinking to challenging problems
• Learn from experts to expand engineering skillset and domain knowledge
• Work hands-on alongside experienced technicians to improve hardware designs
• Fix hardware issues as they arise on integrated fusion generators

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
• Hands-on experience with board layout and circuit simulation tools (e.g. KiCAD, LT Spice, Altium)
• Experience designing analog and digital circuits, including low noise OpAmps
• 6+ months of experience working safely with higher voltages, such as building AC or with high voltage (1-10 KVDC) power supplies, and familiarity with electric and magnetic fields
